So here comes the first popup criticism about Mammootty flick 'Madhura Raja'
Vysakh’s Mammootty flick Madhura Raja is having a good run at the box office. The film has been appreciated for its humour and Mammootty’s performance but there have been accusations that the movie is misogynistic.
In his interview with The Hindu, scenarist Udaykrishna has denied the charge. According to him, “We were careful about not having any misogynistic lines or scenes in Madhura Raja. So such accusations are unfair.”
According to the writer, the item dance from the film “has been done at the behest of the villain.” He goes on to say that there are some commercial ingredients which are required when one is looking at a market outside Malayalam. The film has Bollywood star Sunny Leone performing an item dance.
