Savitri biopic ‘Mahanati’ to release on May 9

Savitri was a legendary South Indian actor who ruled the 50’s and 60’s.
Filmmaker Nag Ashwin’s much-awaited biopic on the South Indian actress Savitri is slated to release on May 9th. The film was initially supposed to release on March 30th but has now been postponed due to pending VFX work. Recently, the movie team released the first look featuring Keerthy Suresh as Savitri and Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan. Samantha Akkineni plays a journalist while Akkineni Naga Chaitanya will be portraying his late grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The film also stars Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini Pandey and Prakash Raj in prominent roles. The film will be releasing in both Tamil and Telugu.
