Actor Mohanlal on Wednesday took the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine from Amrita hospital in Kerala.
Actor Mohanlal on Wednesday took the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from Amrita hospital in Kerala. Mohanlal, who was recently seen in Drishyam 2, is the first Malayalam actor to get vaccinated.
He wrote: “Took the First Shot of Covid Vaccine from Amrita Hospital. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of India, the companies which are producing the vaccine & the medical fraternity, including all hospitals, for their relentless assistance and cooperation shown towards the COVID Vaccination Drive. “
On the career front, Mohanlal was last seen in Drishyam 2, which skipped theatres and directly released on Amazon Prime. It is the first mainstream Malayalam film of 2021 to skip theatrical release and premiere directly on Amazon Prime. It stars Mohanlal as the much-loved character Georgekutty from the first part.
Speaking about the film’s OTT release, Mohanlal said in a statement:, “Drishyam was one-of-a-kind thriller film, way ahead of its time, that was loved by all. With Drishyam 2, we are taking the story of George Kutty and his family ahead from where we left it off. I am delighted to associate with Amazon Prime Video to release one of the most-awaited movies of the year."
Drishyam 2 marked the reunion of Mohanlal and filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. Interestingly, the duo recently joined hands for the Malayalam thriller, Ram. The makers of Ram even released a title poster when the project was announced.
However, Jeethu recently revealed that he put Ram on hold to complete work on Drishyam 2.
