Lucifer Trailer Decode: This Deal is with Devil

The most awaited Malayalam movie of the year Mohanlal’s Lucifer was released yesterday. 

The trailer starts with the voice-over of Mohanlal about a political leader and political conspiracies leading to his death explained metaphorically by comparing it with Angels and demons.

The whole trailer is rich in biblical allusions.

The trailer suggests that Mohanlal’s character appears to avenge the betrayals.

Lucifer is considered as the demon as one of the characters suggests Mohanlal’s character as Lucifer. And Mohanlal’s character declares ‘This Deal is with Devil’.

The film is directed by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran which is his directorial debut.

The trailer of the film has become an instant hit with the audience.

The trailer has become an instant hit, building up adequate suspense and intrigue among viewers. It ends with Stephen, Mohanlal's character, built up as the paragon of evil (as Lucifer is in Christian mythology), who is pitted against another evil. Others like Indrajith and Kalabhavan Shajohn are also seen in the trailer.

Vivek Oberoi, the Bollywood actor is debuting with this film. And Manju Warrier is co-starring with Mohanlal after ‘Odiyan’.

The film was initially supposed to have been directed by the late Rajesh Pillai, but Prithviraj took over in 2016. The film has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas and is expected to enjoy a wide release on March 28.
