King of Kotha teaser: Sets high expectations with tons of action

The teaser begins with a captivating voiceover, narrating the people's belief in the return of their King who can save their land from a devouring demon. As the narration unfolds, a mural of the King, played by Dulquer Salmaan, appears on a wall in Kotha, symbolizing his significance. The teaser then proceeds to introduce the diverse characters of the movie and offers a glimpse into the intricate world of Kotha.

In one of the scenes, the King of Kotha states, "This is not Gandhigram...this is Kotha... Here, when I say it's day, it's day, and when I say it's night, it's night." Although Dulquer's presence is subtly felt throughout the teaser through voiceovers and quick shots, his full impact is reserved for the final moments. In this brief glimpse, Dulquer Salmaan is shown covered in blood, gripping a machete, portraying a fierce and determined king ready to confront his rivals.

"King of Kotha" is directed by Abhilash Joshiy, son of veteran filmmaker Joshiy, making his directorial debut with this period gangster film. The movie is jointly produced by Zee Studios and Wayfarer Films. It is scheduled for release in August 2023 as an Onam release, coinciding with the festive season.

Prior to the teaser release, the makers had unveiled a promo introducing the people of Kotha, accompanied by an electrifying background score. The promo provided a glimpse of each main character, including Shabeer Kallarakkal as Kannan, Prassana as Shul Haasan, and Aishwarya Lekshmi as Tara. The film also features Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod, Gokul Suresh, Shammi Thilakan, Shanthi Krishna, Vada Chennai Saran, and Anikha Surendran in key roles.
