Drarma Movie Review: The film is adapted from William Shakespear's play As You Like It which is set in the modern era instead of Victorian era. Veteran actress Arundhati Nag is also part of this film. Check out our review right here...
Most of the Shakespear's plays have been adapted into different films in the Indian Cinema.
Most of them have their stories rooted or some have tried attempting it in the modern environment.
Both these elements have impressed the audience too, that's what is shown in Drama which stars Mohanlal in the lead.
The plot is set in London, United Kingdom where Rosamma (Arundhati Nag) an elderly lady has a difficult time settling in the foreign land. A few days later, she breathes her last and this causes a pandemonium in the family. Rajgopal aka Raju (Mohanlal) one of the funeral crew members, takes charge of the last rites.
The whole family decide to fly to Kerala to finish Rosamma's rites which will be her last wish before dying. Raju also joins them and then begins the journey of self-discovery.
The best part of the film is the direction by Ranjith, how each and every character is sketched as to every character in Shakespear's play from which it is adapted.
Mohanlal has turned quite an artist when it comes to acting and he blends into the character. Be it dialogue delivery or portraying emotions. The actor knows how to play it.
Arundhati Nag is just like a chameleon when it comes to acting, the actress has managed to give stellar performances when she's alive and when she's dead. Hats off to the veteran actress.
Despite the screenplay seems to be a little baked and nothing new to offer, You will go for a laugh riot if you are planning to watch this movie on a weekend.
