Yuva Rajkumar, grandson of the legendary Kannada cinema icon Dr. Rajkumar and son of actor Raghavendra Rajkumar, is set to make his acting debut in director Santhosh Ananddram's film "Yuva."
Santhosh acknowledges the weight of launching someone from the first family of Kannada cinema but believes that both the film and its leading actor are essential to address the current vacuum in the industry.
Santhosh emphasises the importance of delivering compelling content that attracts audiences to theaters, emphasizing the need for films that perform well commercially. He sees Yuva as filling this void and stresses the significance of introducing newcomers to keep the industry thriving and prevent audiences from seeking entertainment in other languages.
Describing Yuva's qualities, Santhosh praises his simplicity, honesty, and dedication to the script, highlighting him as a director's actor. He notes Yuva's fiery demeanor, which adds depth to his portrayal of an angry young man on screen. While Yuva possesses traits reminiscent of his family's legacy, Santhosh emphasizes that he maintains his individuality and has not merely imitated his predecessors, such as Puneeth Rajkumar.
Santhosh also discusses Sapthami Gowda's character, Siri, in the film, highlighting her impactful presence despite limited screen time. He explains that her character's aversion to judgment adds depth to the narrative and influences Yuva's journey.
Regarding the portrayal of Yuva Rajkumar in the film, Santhosh mentions a conscious decision to avoid succumbing to external pressures and instead focus on depicting the character authentically. He explains that while there may have been subconscious pressure due to expectations, they aimed to break norms and present a realistic portrayal of Yuva's character, which includes moments of wildness and humility.
Overall, Santhosh's insights shed light on the creative process behind "Yuva" and the efforts made to ensure the film's authenticity and resonance with contemporary audiences.
