Upendra-Sudeep starrer 'Kabzaa' to hit big screens on March 17

Expected to be released in around 6,000 theatres, director R Chandru zeroed in on March 17, saying, “Puneeth often frequented the sets during the shoot, and had wanted to release its teaser and trailer. His legacy prevails. In his fond memory, we zeroed in on March 17, and because it is Ugadi; Kabzaa will be our New Year gift to cinema lovers.”

As the only Kannada film to make it into IMDb’s most-anticipated 2023 film list, ranking seventh, it is being released in seven languages. About comparisons between KGF and Kabzaa, Chandru says, “KGF is a mining story, and Kabzaa is a mafia story.”

Set in the 1940s, Upendra, Sudeep and Shriya Saran essay pivotal roles in the film that chronicles the origins of the mafia.
