UI's teaser provides a glimpse into a world balanced between dystopia and utopia, avoiding extremes of darkness or excessive optimism. It opens with a voice-over introducing a "UI world" distinct from artificial intelligence, then references the concept of the original sin from the Biblical tale of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This narrative suggests that their forbidden fruit consumption led to worldly sin and suffering.
The teaser transitions to an advanced world filled with humans, weaponry, and injustice. Scenes unfold with tyrants in regal attire, relentless wars, enslavement, prisons, hunger, and widespread suffering. A mythical figure in black robes riding a dark horse, wielding a justice sword, seemingly emerges to free people from tyrannical clutches, challenging expectations.
Upendra's films defy predictability, urging audiences to reflect on their roles in exacerbating societal issues. In UI, Upendra not only assumes the enigmatic savior's role but also serves as the writer and director, marking his return to directing after a seven-year hiatus, with Uppi 2 in 2016 being his last directorial venture.
