The Villain Movie Review: The film marks the union of two veteran actors Shivarajakumar and Sudeep who have given noteworthy roles in their career. The movie is directed by Prem and produced by C. Manohar
Prem has a unique flair for making movies in his decade-old career which revolve around gangsters and their personal and emotional lives. This kind of films have succeeded in impressing the critics and the audience. The Villain is something which he has taken a risk of casting two legends of Sandalwood together.
The film revolves around two personalities (Sudeep and Shivarajakumar) who have one thing in common, they share the traits of Ram and Ravana in them. One of them states that he uses the discipline and loyal approach of Ram and tactics of Ravana for survival. This is what most of the fans will be expecting when they watch the film. During this course, we get a little glimpse about their rivalries and the personal conflicts which tend to break them apart.
The film doesn't seem like a thriller which most of us will be expecting instead it is a commercial entertainer filled with a lot of action sequences, comic one-liners and humming songs. You might expect some whistles and cheers when you see the entry of both the lead actors which is just applause-worthy. Amy Jackson doesn't have to do anything much in the film and she is quite wasted in the film.
The director tries to do a bit of experimental theme for the film but this time it seems a bit backfiring because the emphasis is given mainly for music and action sequences but the story is very weak.
Overall, this is an experience for most of the fans of Sudeep and Shivarajkumara who will be delighted to see both of them together for the first time.
