The pre-release celebrations of 'Old Monk' are currently underway and M.G.Srinivas and the team are gearing up for a grand theatrical release on the 25th of February. As part of the pre-release celebrations team 'Old Monk' will be collaborating with the comedy collective Lolbagh for a super fun session of standup comedy and improv.
he special evening, called Full Tight, shall be held on the 19th of February and will see the main cast of 'Old Monk' trying its hand at standup comedy & improv. Along with M.G. Srinivas and Aditi Prabhudeva, Sujay Shastri, P.D. Sathish Chandra, and senior actors Sihi Kahi Chandru and S. Narayan too will be seen doing their comedy bits on stage.
The team of 'Old Monk' will be joined by Lolbagh, a novel all-Kannada comedy collective comprising of the likes of Pavan Venugopal, Arun Maiya, Karthik Pattar, and others.
Speaking of the event, M.G. Srinivas shares: "I feel the comedy event will help us establish the genre as a "fun-filled" film quite well and it also allows us to interact with the audience on a one-on-one basis. Normally, one might do a number of print or media interviews to spread the word about their film but we decided on doing something that's more personal and interactive - for this reason alone, we have been visiting dance classes, gyms etc. in places like Hubli, Davanagere, Mysuru, etc. We will also upload the recording of the upcoming standup comedy event before the release".
'Old Monk', directed by M.G. Srinivas, will release on February 25th following the recent change in the theatrical occupancy guidelines in Karnataka. Originally slated to release on February 11th, the makers chose to delay things a little and replace 'Vikrant Rona' at the box office.
