Sridhar Shikaripura's debut as a director 'Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage' will hit the big screen on December 2. The title has been inspired by the famous folk song, Punyakoti, and the legendary director Puttana Kanagal having made a classic film in 1983 with the same title.
This new film's story will happen over 24 hours in Bangalore. Sridhar has attempted to hyperlink screenplay linking events or characters. This kind of hyperlink screenplay has been attempted in Telugu and Tamil with films like 'Vedham' and 'Aaranya Kaandam' respectively.
Sridhar entered the industry to work under director Yogaraj Bhat, whose 'Mungaru Male' at that time made Sridhar try his luck to assist Yogaraj Bhat but due to no luck, he was working as a poster designer. Later Sridhar went on to assist directors Rajendra Singh Babu, Ghouse Peer, Ananth Urs and Puri Jagannadh.
Despite working under commercial directors, Sridhar's affection for world cinema made him attempt 'Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage'. The theme of the film deals with coincidence and a tinge of philosophy laced in the screenplay.
The film stars Naveen Shankar, Aishani Shetty and Yashwanth Shetty, Jayashree Aradhya, Siddhu Moolimani and Omkar. The cinematography is handled by Keerthan Poojary, editing by Ujwal Chandra and music by Ronada Bakesh and Karthik Chennoji Rao.
