A recent report suggests that Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor has signed on to star alongside Yash in the upcoming Kannada film Toxic. Yash had unveiled the title of his 19th film last December, and while specific details about the project remain undisclosed, the report indicates that Kareena is set to play the lead role.
If this rumor holds true, it will mark Kareena's debut in Kannada cinema.
Filmfare reports that director Geetu Mohandas and Yash are expected to officially announce Kareena's involvement in the cast in the upcoming days, with filming slated to commence in a few weeks.
This collaboration won't be Yash's first venture with a Bollywood actress, as he previously worked with Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt in the 2022 release of KGF 2.
Regarding Toxic, Yash's 19th film, a teaser video released last month provides a glimpse of his character, featuring elements of anti-heroes, including the iconic DC Comics villain Joker. The video builds anticipation for Yash's appearance, showcasing him with a pot-belly, a retro hat, a machine gun, and a cigar. The film's tagline, "A fairytale for grown-ups," adds to the intrigue.
Produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions, initial reports suggested Sai Pallavi and Raashii Khanna as potential leading ladies before Kareena's name surfaced in connection with the project. Yash's popularity soared after the success of KGF in 2018, and KGF 2 surpassed Rs 1,000 crore in worldwide box office collections, cementing his status as a pan-India star.
