Prajwal Devaraj, known for his versatility in the Kannada film industry, is set to explore new horizons with the upcoming horror film Rakshasa.

Directed by Lohith H, who previously made a mark with films like Mummy-Save Me and Devaki, Rakshasa is generating excitement with its unique concept of a time-loop infused with horror—claimed to be a global first by the director.

Interestingly, Prajwal, who has confessed to being a horror film phobic, used to hide behind his wife while watching scary movies. However, he has courageously stepped out of his comfort zone to tackle this challenging role. The recently released teaser has already sparked significant buzz, hinting at a thrilling cinematic experience.

In Rakshasa, Prajwal Devaraj plays a harrowing role as a father who is desperately trying to protect his child from a menacing force in a terrifying time-loop scenario. With each cycle, the stakes increase, and he must race against time to uncover the sinister mystery threatening his family. The film promises a heart-pounding experience, skillfully blending the horror genre with a time-loop concept.

The teaser launch event saw praise from industry figures such as Priyanka Upendra and Prithvi Ambaar, who lauded Prajwal's transformation and Lohith H's innovative direction. Director Lohith emphasized that Rakshasa is a special film, with a strong focus on visual effects. The film was shot over 55 days at Ramoji Rao Film City.

Lohith also revealed an interesting tidbit about the film's title. Initially, it was titled A Tale of Devil. However, with another film starring Darshan also titled Devil, and out of respect for the star, they decided to change the title to Rakshasa.

The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Arun Rathod, Sridhar, Gautam, Somashekar, and Vihaan Krishna. Produced by Deepu BS, Naveen Gowda, and Manas under Shanvi Enterprises, Rakshasa has music composed by Nobin Paul and cinematography by Jaybin P Jacob. With the shooting wrapped up, the film is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release on October 17.
