Legendary Kannada Actor Rajkumar’s granddaughter, Dhanya Ramkumar, to debut in a Kannada film.

Nata Saarvabhouma (emperor of actors) Rajkumar is considered as the legend of Kannada Cinema and his family is the face of Sandalwood.

One more member from Rajkumar family is getting into Kannada film industry and that is Rajkumar’s granddaughter Dhanya Ramkumar.

Dhanya has been roped in for a romantic comedy opposite Suraj Gowda which would be directed by debutant director Suman who worked as an assistant director in films such as Silicon City and Kamal Hassan's Uttama Villain.

Poornima, Dhanya’s mother, and Rajkumar’s daughter are ‘super proud’ that her daughter is entering the film industry.

In a media interaction, Dhanya stated that “It was the story that clinched it for me. When I heard the narration, I could picturise myself doing that role. Even my mother, whose words I consider most sacrosanct, could see me in the role. Apart from this, the team was a lot more passionate and driven, compared to the others I have met, which led me to say yes to the film.”

The film is expected to go on floors next month. Dhanya, daughter of Poornima Rajkumar, is the first girl from Rajkumar family to debut in films. Her brother Dheeren Rajkumar will also be making his debut this year with Daari Tappida Maga.

Suraj Gowda, who debuted with Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole, will be next seen in Lakshmi Tanaya. The movie also includes Achyuth Rao, Sitara, Sadhu Kokila, Chikanna Shivu KR Pete and Dharmanna in the cast.
