Kantara makes it to Academy Awards contention list in TWO categories: Rishab Shetty-overjoyed

The film has made it to the two categories along with 301 films. Kantara, a late entry in the Oscars race, has now managed to make it to the contention list, meaning that the film is eligible for Oscar members to cast a vote to push it through to the main nominations.

“When we made this film, we did not even have pan-India plans. People took it to pan-India and then people across the globe liked the film and resonated with our story and culture. Reaching a stage like Oscars, especially a Kannada film, is a proud moment for us Kannadigas and I am the proudest because it is my film and narrates the story of our land,” said an elated Rishab Shetty.
