Rebel Star Ambareesh passes away on Saturday at the age of 66 due to heart attack.
Rebel Star Ambareesh died on Saturday at Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru after suffering from Heart attack. The former minister was suffering from Kidney ailment. His condition was critical, and he was also being treated for a lung infection.
Recently he had opted out of the Assembly elections which was conducted in May this year after being given ticket from Mandya constituency.
He is survived by his wife Sumalatha and son Abhishek Gowda.
Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath, popularly known as Ambareesh was born on 29th May, 1952. He made his debut in Puttanna Kanagal's National Award winning film Naagarahaavu in the year 1972. He played an antogonist. The film also saw the debut of Vishnuvardhan.From then they have been larger than life friends. He has acted in over 200 films over a career of five decades. He has given many commercially successful films and also earned the nickname Mandayada Gandu.
Ambareesh was an MLA with the Indian National Congress party winning the assembly election of the Mandya constituency. He also served as Minister of Housing, Karnataka Government in the cabinet of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah from May 2013 to June 2016.
He was last seen in Ambi Ning Vayassaytho which was a success in the box office.
