Darshan starrer Roberrt to release on Amazon Prime Video on April 25

Darshan's recent release Roberrt is gearing up for a grand premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 25. The film, which received overwhelming reviews from critics and audience alike, released in theatres on March 11. Amazon Prime Video announced the release date of Roberrt, which will release in over 240 countries. Directed by Tharun Sudhir, the film features Darshan and Jagapathi Babu in lead roles.

Roberrt will release on Amazon Prime Video on April 25 and can be streamed in five languages. The film has completed 40 days in theatres. According to the recent announcement, theatres in Karnataka have been closed for at least 10 days.

This decision has cut short the theatrical run of Roberrt. Hence, the makers have announced the film's digital premiere on April 25.

Director Tharun Sudhir, in a statement, said, "Roberrt is an out-and-out action drama featuring audiences’ favourite Darshan. His phenomenal performance has been the biggest plus point for the film. Roberrt has an interesting plot, that will keep the audiences on the edge of their seats. The transition of our protagonist from Raghava to Roberrt is a visual delight to watch. Moreover, having Darshan as the protagonist and with his nationwide fan base, I knew the film would be a crowd puller. While the audiences of Sandalwood have enjoyed the film in theatres, we are keen to take this cinematic marvel to a wider audience."

Darshan said, "While the plot of the film will keep the audience engaged, my character in the film will be an interesting one to watch. It will give the viewers a chance to see me in different avatars that of a gangster, a faithful friend and a good father.”

The film centres on the life of Raghava (played by Darshan) who lives with his son Arjun in Lucknow and works as a cook at a South Indian catering service. Raghava is an obedient, god-fearing and peace-loving person while his son is the complete opposite of his father - vengeful and obstinate. Their polar opposite personalities become the centre of all the action in the film, taking the narrative forward. The father-son duo is living peacefully until Arjun’s vindictiveness gets him in trouble with a powerful gangster. Raghava is then forced to take on his original avatar in order to protect his son. What follows this debacle is a gripping story full of action and adventure.  

Vinod Prabhakar, Ravi Shankar, Asha Bhat, Sonal Monteiro, Ravi Kishan, Devaraj, Avinash and Chikkanna form the supporting cast. Produced by Umapathy Films, Roberrt became the fastest Kannada film to rake in Rs 50 crore.
