Sunny Leone had a sharp comeback when questioned about Darshan's case, asking, "What makeup are you purchasing for your wife?"

When asked about the case, she deflected by suggesting reporters ask her about her activities instead. "It would be great. I'll ask you a question in return: what makeup are you buying for your wife, mother, sister, and friends?" she quipped. "You ask me difficult questions, and I ask you one."

Renuka Swamy, a fan of Darshan, reportedly expressed displeasure over the actor's alleged affair with Pavithra Gowda, expecting him to remain loyal to his wife, Vijaya Lakshmi. Renuka Swamy's provocative messages to Pavithra Gowda allegedly provoked Darshan, who reportedly instructed his aides to bring Swamy to Bengaluru. Renuka Swamy was subsequently abducted, confined in a shed in Kamakshi Palya, and severely assaulted by Darshan's aides, resulting in his death. His body was later disposed of in a drainage in Sumanahalli, and three of Darshan's associates surrendered to the police.
