The first half of 2018 has been a very good time for Bollywood and there are many who not only got hits because of star power but even because of their content as well.
Here are some of the box-office hits of the first half of 2018:
1. Padmaavat
Finally, after all the nonsense it was dragged into, the film was finally able to see the light of its day at the theatres. Before the movie released, many started uploading dance covers of the popular song Ghoomar which was much more appreciated and the movie went on becoming a blockbuster at the box office.
Despite not having a big star in it, the movie went on becoming a box office success because of its quirky storyline and foot-tapping music. Because of this film Karthik Aaryan became a household name in Bollywood.
3. Pad Man
Akshay Kumar's dream project which is also produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna saw the box office minting a lot of cash and it was also going to make Akshay Kumar, a profitable star in Bollywood.
4. Raazi
Meghna Gulzar's film which was not only the first film in the year to be added in the 200 crore club but it was famous for Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's powerful acting. This film set a milestone in Alia Bhatt's career.
The only film which was an amalgamation of Sex And The City and Bridesmaid was this movie and it was unexpected for a movie like this which had an all female cast and a lot of cuss words to perform well in the box office.
6. Race 3
Despite all the hate and trolls which this film is receiving is currently rocksteady at the box office all because of Salman Khan, who has been ruling the box office for more than 8 years.
7. Sanju
Ranbir Kapoor's dream venture is not only earning praise from the critics but it is all set to beat the records set by Baahubali, Tiger Zinda Hai and Race 3. Let's see how much will this film make in the coming days.
