Acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli, known for his cinematic spectacles like Baahubali 1 & 2 and RRR, is all set to mesmerize audiences once again with his upcoming project, "Made in India."
In a recent reveal, Rajamouli shared the teaser of this much-anticipated film, which promises to narrate the awe-inspiring tale of the 'birth and rise' of Indian cinema. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Rajamouli's son, SS Karthikeya, in collaboration with Varun Gupta, this cinematic endeavor aims to be the definitive biopic of Indian cinema.
The teaser's announcement boldly declares, "Indian cinema has witnessed many biopics. This is the biopic of Indian cinema. SS Rajamouli presents to you, Made in India." This statement underscores the significance of this project in the realm of Indian filmmaking.
Dadasaheb Phalke, often hailed as the 'Father of Indian Cinema,' is at the heart of this biographical masterpiece. Phalke etched his name in history by crafting the first-ever full-length Indian feature film, "Raja Harishchandra," in 1913. Over his illustrious career, he went on to create 27 short films and more than 90 full-length movies, shaping the foundation of Indian cinema over nearly two decades.
While the cast of "Made in India" is yet to be unveiled, the film's director, Nitin Kakkar, brings his experience to the project. Kakkar has previously helmed films such as "Filmistaan" (2012), "Mitron" (2018), "Notebook" (2019), "Jawaani Jaaneman" (2020), and "Ram Singh Charlie" (2020).
SS Karthikeya, who contributed as a Line Producer in his father's blockbuster, "RRR," is making his maiden foray into production with "Made in India." Rajamouli, expressing his deep emotional connection to the film's narrative, shared, "When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. Making a biopic is tough in itself, but conceiving one about the FATHER OF INDIAN CINEMA is even more challenging. Our boys are ready and up for it..:) With immense pride, Presenting MADE IN INDIA…"
