#ShameOnYouKaranJohar is trending, KJO faces abuse from twitteraties

Karan Johar is the most recognizable person in the film industry. He is known for his style, movies, and a stream of controversy.

He got embroiled in a social media fiasco on Friday when some technical error led to him 'liking' a tweet abusing Karan's good friend Shah Rukh Khan while praising Akshay Kumar's Kesari.

A large part of the social media users assumed that the 'like' was intentional, until Karan himself tweeted to clear the air, saying that there has been a "technical problem" with his Twitter account.

The tweet that Karan apparently liked compared the box office collections of Kesari with that of SRK's film Zero, hailing Akshay as a bigger star. It didn't take netizens too long to take note of the fact and post screenshots which went viral.

#ShameOnKaranJohar started trending on the micro-blogging site as fans of SRK called out the director for liking such an offensive tweet.

Then, Karan Johar smartly tried to tackle the situation with a funny tweet induced with wordplay and simultaneously promoted his new film song 'First Class'.

Replying to the backlash faced by Karan Johar, SRK, the man himself tweeted and said to his fans that mistakes can be committed by anyone and should make peace.

I hate clarifications on SM. @karanjohar is technologically challenged but has other good qualities like his taste in clothes!?Just like Life, twitter doesn’t come with instructions, so mistakes r natural....& also he has fat fingers. Go easy all, Make Lov not War...it’s more fun
