Shahid Kapoor's ‘Jersey’ release postponed
The makers of Shahid Kapoor-Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Jersey’ decided to postpone the film’s release amid the growing Omicron scare.
The film was slated for a grand theatrical opening on December 31 but now a fresh date will be announced soon. At the same time, South biggie ‘RRR’ continues to prep for a grand release next week. Directed by Rajamouli, this historic drama is scheduled for a release on January 7.
Theatres in Delhi are shut and Maharashtra cinemas are running on 50 per cent occupancy. Hence, the makers of ‘Jersey’ decided to push the release of their movie. In an official statement they had shared, “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!” Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, this entertainer is a remake of a Telugu drama by the same name.
