'Saandh Ki Aankh' first look: Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar as 60-year-old-ghagra-clad shooters.
The film is based on the life of real-life shooters Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar from Uttar Pradesh, who are better known as ‘shooter dadis’.
Taapsee and Bhumi spotted in a different avatar in the poster of their upcoming film Saand Ki Aankh.
The film is a biopic based on the life of sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar.
Chandro, 87, and Prakashi, 82, are reportedly the world’s oldest female sharpshooters.
Initially, the film was titled Womaniya which is the song title of Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 film Gangs of Wasseypur. But due to controversy over legal rights of the title which is held by Pritish Nandy Communications, the film was renamed as Saand ki Aankh.
Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Saand Ki Aankh also features Prakash Jha and Vicky Kadian in pivotal roles. The film is set to release around Diwali this year.
