The title of the Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer, Roohi Afzana, has been changed again. The film will now be called Roohi and will release in theatres on March 11.
Actor Janhvi Kapoor took to her official Instagram profile to share the news with her fans. Hoping to bring back the magic of cinema, the Dhadak star captioned her post, "Iss Bhootiya Shaadi mein aapka swagat hai! #MagicOfCinemaReturns; movie releases 11th March (sic)."
Claiming that the theatres will come to life once again, Rajkummar Rao shared on his Instagram profile, "Dulhan ki tarah sajenge Theatres. Magar Dulha le jaegi #Roohi! Iss Bhootiya Shaadi mein aapka swagat hai! #MagicOfCinemaReturns; movie releases 11th March (sic)."
Roohi was all set to hit the cinemas in the first week of June last year, but the film had to be postponed due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. There were also reports that the makers would opt for a digital release.
However, the horror-comedy is now gearing up for its theatrical outing in March. This will make it the first movie with an A-list cast to be released in cinemas after the Maharashtra government permitted a hundred per cent occupancy in theatres.
A Jio Studios Presentation, Roohi is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and will have its theatrical release on March 11.
