Release Date Set for Emergency, Starring Kangana Ranaut as Indira Gandhi

Kangana Ranaut, a prominent figure in Bollywood, is set to portray the role of Indira Gandhi, India's first female Prime Minister, in the forthcoming film Emergency. After encountering multiple delays, the film has now solidified its release date. Emergency is slated to grace the silver screen on June 14, 2024.

This cinematic endeavor explores the challenging period of the "Indian Emergency" spanning from 1975 to 1977, characterized by the suspension of civil liberties, the arrest of political adversaries, and press censorship under the leadership of Indira Gandhi.

As the filmmakers announced the new release date, they have also unveiled the initial promotional poster.

Kangana Ranaut not only graces the screen as the lead but also assumes the roles of director and story writer.

The ensemble cast of Emergency includes Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, the late Satish Kaushik, and Vishak Nair in pivotal roles. Produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut under the banners of Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios, the movie is set to be distributed globally by Zee Studios.
