The release date of Sanju is coming closer and most of us are getting impatient to finally book the tickets for the film and make it a history in the box office.
The most awaited film of this year, Sanju which is based on the life and times of the controversial superstar Sanjay Dutt had not planned to rope Ranbir Kapoor in the first place. The producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra who happens to be best of friends with Sanjay Dutt revealed that his first choice to play the role of Sanjay Dutt was Ranveer Singh.
When Vidhu Vinod Chopra went to Rajkumar Hirani to cast Ranveer Singh for the role, Raju Hirani refused to cast Ranveer as Sanjay Dutt as he wanted Ranbir Kapoor to play the role and he remained adamant with his decision to cast Ranbir Kapoor for it. After doing extensive research on Sanjay Dutt ranging from his drug addiction phase, 308 girlfriends, connection with Underworld and jail sentence, Vidhu Vinod Chopra finally agreed with Rajkumar Hirani to cast Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir readily agreed after going through the script.
