Phamous Movie Review: A Failed Attempt Of Creating Another Gangs Of Wasseypur
Phamous stars Jimmy Shergill, Jackie Shroff, Shriya Saran, Kay Kay Menon and Pankaj Tripathi, the movie is directed by Karan Lalit Butani
The movie is set in the wild east which is Chambal MP, the place famous for most of the bandits preying on the innocent. The story deals with important aspects of this town with issues like Love, Lust, Revenge, Politics and Power amidst the gun-slinging characters.
Phamous has the potential to become another Gangs of Wasseypur like film but it has lost it and the action seems to be juvenile.
Despite a very good starcast like Kay Kay Menon, Jackie Shroff, Jimmy Shergill and Pankaj Tripathi who just won a national award recently for his acting in the movie called Newton. The movie seems to be a failed attempt to ape the wild west of the Hollywood movies like the Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight.
The desi version of the wild west which is showcased in this movie seems like eating a hamburger with too much of mint chutney which might spoil the taste of it.
Never attempt this fusion of wild west and Indian spice because it might upset your stomach quickly.
