Padmavati officially renamed to Padmaavat

CBFC Board suggested the makers to rename the movie to Padmaavat and granted U/A certificate with few modifications.
Sanjay Leela Bansali’s ‘Padmavati’ is officially renamed to ‘Padmaavat’. The movie team renamed the title in its twitter handle yesterday. Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh in the lead is based on the poem ‘Padmavat’ written in 1540 by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi. The movie is slated to release on 25th Jan 2018. The film will not be releasing in Rajasthan and Gujarat despite the clearance from CBFC.
