A still from Omerta
Hansal Mehta’s ambitious project ’Omerta’ has met another roadblock after postponing its release date and that is the wrath of the censor board which has found two of its scenes quite offensive and objectionable. Omerta, directed by Hansal Mehta stars Rajkummar Rao as Omar Saeed Sheikh, a British terrorist of a Pakistani origin, who was a facilitator to majority of the terrorist activities like the abduction of westerners in New Delhi, IC-814 hijack, 9/11, Daniel Pearl Kidnapping and the Mumbai attacks in 2008. The movie has received a lot of applause in film festivals like the TIFF(Toronto International Film Festival), Hong Kong International Film Festival and MAMI (Mumbai Film Festival). We are expecting the same appreciation in the Indian market as well.
