Mrunal Thakur joins Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Mrunal mentioned that she was elated to be a part of the project and also revealed that the original Telugu film had left a deep impact on her. The actress has had a stellar year with Super 30 with Hrithik Roshan and Batla House with John Abraham and now, Jersey with Shahid Kapoor. Mrunal even mentioned that she watched the film twice just to relive the emotional passionate journey. Shahid and Mrunal will be seen together for the first time on screen in Jersey remake.

Mrunal said, “So deep was the impact of the film that I couldn’t get it out of my heart the whole night, and immediately watched it again the next day. It felt like I had lived a full life in two hours.” The director of the film, Gowtham Tinnanuri mentioned that it was Mrunal’s performance in Super 30 that he loved and wanted her on board Jersey with Shahid Kapoor. Jersey remake will see Shahid stepping into the shoes of a struggling cricketer whose life goes through a series of ups and downs professionally and personally. The film is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, and Dil Raju. It is slated to release on August 28, 2020.
