'Mission Mangal' Movie Trailer: Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and co. are on a mission which looks impossible.

This space drama has an ensemble cast starring Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menon, and others.

The trailer starts with dedicating ISRO and his scientist for their incredible contribution to space science. 

Rakesh Dhawan (Akshay Kumar) a scientist doesn't scare to do an experiment and tries a space test to mars which fail miserably. Rakesh doesn't give up despite immense disapproval from his bosses spearheads India’s mission to send a spacecraft to orbit Mars, Tanya Shinde (Vidya Balan) accompanies him.

The trailer shows Dhawan inducing home science with the experiment which is disagreed by his bosses. His Bosses advice him to blindly follow to which he refuses and says in a rhetoric way that if they blindly follow NASA it will be satyaNASA (messed up).


He has an incredible though amateur but who has an experience of going to mars from ISRO, says Dhawan.

He is assisted by a team of scientists played by Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Sharman Joshi.

The highlight of the trailer is an incredible cast of female lead which is seldom seen in a mainstream movie.

Mission Mangal is based on the events surrounding the Indian Space Research Organisation’s Mars Orbiter Mission. With the successful launch of the space probe on November 5, 2013, India became the first Asian country to reach the Mars orbit and the first country in the world to do so in its first attempt.

Backed by R Balki and Akshay Kumar, Mission Mangal has been directed by Jagan Shakti who’s been an assistant director on films like Padman, English Vinglish and Shamitabh. The film will be out on Independence Day and is set to clash with Nikkhil Advani’s Batla House and Sujeeth’s multi-lingual Saaho at the box office.
