KJo Backs remake rights of Telugu hit 'Jersey'

Shahid Kapoor is rumored to play Nani's role in the remake.
The Nani starrer Jersey released a few months ago, did well at the box office. It is a period sports drama written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri and produced by Suryadevar Naga Vamsi under his banner Sithara Entertainments. The film had Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles while Sanusha, Sathyaraj, Sampath Raj, Viswant and Ronit Kamra played pivotal roles. Music was scored by Anirudh Ravichander with cinematography handled by Sanu Varghese.

Following its immense success, Bollywood producer and director Karan Johar has bagged the rights of the film.
Reports are that Gowtham Tinnanuri, the director of the Telugu version, may be wielding the megaphone for the Hindi remake.

Recently, Kabir Singh another remake of a Telugu film, Arjun Reddy which is starring Shahid Kapoor is performing well at the box office, Sandeep Vanga, director of Arjun Reddy has wielded the megaphone for the remake.
Jersey has impressed both critics and audiences alike and has been identified as one of the most important films in recent times. Tollywood Stars Jr NTR, Rajamouli, Rana Daggunati, and some others praised and congratulated Nani for his stellar performance.
