Kiara Advani roped for Ashutosh Gowariker's Karram Kurram

Kiara will play the lead role in Ashutosh-produced film which is based on the inspiring story of a woman who started the popular chain of Lijjat Papad. The film will be directed by Glenn Baretto and Ankush Mohla.
Director Ashutosh Gowariker has roped in Kiara Advani for his next film titled Karram Kurram. Kiara will play the lead role in Ashutosh-produced film which is based on the inspiring story of a woman who started the popular chain of Lijjat Papad. Karram Kurram will be a film about empowerment and will trace the journey of a group of women who started off the business to sustain their household needs but were later able to take this business to new heights. Over the years, Lijjat Papad or Shri Mahila Griha Udyog has been able to provide income to several other women.
Directed by Glenn Baretto and Ankush Mohla, the film will be presented by Ashutosh Gowariker Productions.
Kiara Advani is currently working on Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which also stars Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. She also has Shershaah in the pipeline, co-starring her rumoured boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra. The film is set in the backdrop of 1999 Indo-Pak War in Kargil. Sidharth plays the role of Captain Vikram Batra while Kiara plays his love interest. The actress was last seen in Laxmii opposite Akshay Kumar. The actress will be next seen in Indoo Ki Jawani, which is set to release in the theatres on December 11.
Ashutosh Gowariker’s last film as a director was Panipat. The film based on the Third Battle of Panipat featured Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The film failed to make a mark at the box office. Ashutosh Gowariker is best known for films like Jodhaa Akbar, Lagaan and Swades. His last film as a producer was Mohenjo Daro.
