‘Kalank’, is it a war between two families or an Epic love story? Predicting the story and characterization of ‘Kalank’

A lot of buzz is around the film ‘Kalank’ since its announcement. Makers have released the posters of the characters of the film which includes the ensemble cast including Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha.

So, we thought to predict the story of Kalank by checking out the released six posters.

Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha’s name ends with Chaudhry

As the poster suggests, the name of these characters ends with Chaudhry. Henceforth, Sanjay and Aditya surely portray father and son. Sonakshi’s poster suggests that she is married and spots a vermillion on her forehead. So she might be the wife of Aditya’s character.

A connection between Alia and Madhuri 's character

Poster of these two actresses suggests that they might be portraying courtesans. Madhuri’s characters might be the mother of Alia’s character or maybe Alia’s character is working under her.

Clash of Class

The kohl-eyed character of Varun spots a ring on his ear and the entire look suggests that he is from a poor background. Or else, Varun’s character might be a goon.

Whereas Aditya Roy Kapoor might be from the rich background as mentioned earlier he is the son of Sanjay’s character. And his poster showcases him with a sword and ablaze vehicle.

A clash of the class might occur between these two.

What is with the Title?

‘Kalank’ means disgrace. And as per the makers, it includes a love story. Madhuri’s character might have a love affair with Sanjay’s character in the film as this real-life duo had an alleged love-affair in the past. So, it can make their character interesting. And maybe Alia’s character is the illegitimate child of Sanjay’s character.

As the story will take place in the pre-independence era, these situations can create a story which is related to disgrace.

‘Kalank’ was a two-decade-old project supposed to direct by Karan Johar’s father Yash Johar with actors such as Sridevi but the project couldn’t take place and it was shelved. 

These are just our prediction related to the poster. Hope that the movie turns well and showcases an interesting premise.
