Genius Movie Review: A Typical Masala Fare Fails Miserably
Published On: 24 August 2018 | Bollywood | By: Rohan M
Genius marks the debut of Utkarsh Sharma who was a child artist seen in Gadar - Ek Prem Katha and the film is all set to release today.
Every producer in Bollywood has always planned a big launch for their children and the sons have proven their worth in the films they are featured. Some are now ruling the film industry despite the films failing and some have toppled despite a full-fledged debut. Genius comes in the first category I mentioned.
Vasudev Shastri aka Vasu (Utkarsh Sharma) is a typical Adarsh beta who is intelligent as well as sanskaari, he is, in short, another college topper from IIT who gets good marks, a Casanova and a charmer. The starting is shown as a typical breezy college life and then suddenly like a serious RAW analyst who is on a mission.

The director Anil Sharma who was well remembered for his iconic 2001 blockbuster Gadar has used a very terrible script in this one and Utkarsh has shined as an actor in this sloggy film which takes you nowhere.
But, Utkarsh has a very good future in Bollywood, in the later films if he puts in enough hard work in his upcoming projects and slowly, he might turn out to be one of the most established stars in Bollywood in the coming future.
Overall, I can say only one thing about this film is that in one month's time the film will be airing on TV and there is no need to book a ticket for this one. It is a waste of time and money this weekend
