'Gangubai Kathiawadi':Supreme Court suggests name change; to continue hearing case on Thursday

The Supreme Court yesterday (23rd Feb.2022) suggested that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali change the name of his film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', just two days ahead of its release on Friday, February 25, 2022.
According to reports, the apex court made the suggestion in the wake of the several pending cases before the courts seeking a halt to the release of the film, based on various factors. Reports state that Bhansali's lawyer has said he will seek instructions from the filmmaker before the court continues the hearing on February 24.
Several cases have been filed in various courts, seeking to halt the release of the film based on the life of the Gangubai, who rose to political prominence in the of Kamathipura in Mumbai.
The film is adapted from Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' and stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
