The much-awaited Amit Rai-directed film 'Oh My God 2,' starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, is all set to release in the next 10 days, on August 11. However, the movie has been embroiled in controversy due to the portrayal of Akshay Kumar's character as Lord Shiva.

According to reports, the Censor Board has requested 35 edits for 'OMG 2,' which includes altering Akshay Kumar's character from Lord Shiva to a messenger of Lord Shiva.

Sources indicate that the trailer for 'OMG 2' will soon be released on social media. Instead of a traditional trailer launch event, the makers have opted to directly unveil it on digital platforms, a similar strategy used for major films like Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh's 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.'

Earlier, it was disclosed that the trailer of 'OMG 2' has received a U/A certification.

Amit Rai helms the film, starring Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, along with Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil (known for portraying Lord Ram in Ramayan). This satirical comedy-drama serves as a sequel to the successful 2012 film 'OMG- Oh My God!' and is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl, with Dr. Chandraprakash Diwedi as the creative producer. Amalendu Chaudhary is the cinematographer for the film. Fans are eagerly anticipating its theatrical release on August 11.
