Divya Dutta: The Lost Gem In The Film Industry
Published On: 25 September 2018 | Bollywood | By: Rohan M
Despite being accoladed for few films, the actress has been noted for her unique style of acting and her presentation. She has been part of various shows as a host during the time of Doordarshan and she has proven it quite well too.
She started out quite early in the industry by featuring in mostly Punjabi films which were filled with good content and themes based on the India-Pakistan partition and slowly she expanded her base in a big budget film like Baghban where she played a small role in the film.
She became popular when she played the role of Shabbo in Veer-Zaara which won her the best-supporting actress in various award functions. Her supporting role in the 2008 satirical film Welcome To Sajjanpur won her praises from the critics and also won her another award.
Her next best role was of a lower caste trash collector in Delhi-6 which was a flop at the box office but was well appreciated for its good story. Her role managed to win another best-supporting actress at IIFA awards. The success kickstarted when she took up the role of Milkha Singh's sister in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which catapulted her career in the industry and that won her many awards in various award functions.
We wish to see her in other films as well as playing strong character roles in them.
