The details of her role in the film were unspecified, which led to the rumour that she will be playing Salman's second love interest in it. But we have an update that will tell you otherwise.

Salman Khan is teaming up with his Tiger Zinda Hai director Ali Abbas Zafar for his next film Bharat. The movie also marks the reunion of Salman and Priyanka Chopra for a film after a very long time. In fact, this will be the actress’ Bollywood movie after a long time. After Priyanka, it was announced that Disha Patani will also be joining the cast of Bharat.

After the success of her last film Baaghi 2, Disha Patani has bagged a meaty role in one of the most-anticipated projects of 2019. Bharat, starring Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, has got a new addition to the star cast in the form of Disha. The 25-year-old actress will play a trapeze artiste in a 1960s circus.

And it's not a cameo. If reports are to be believed, Disha will have a strong part which is pivotal to the film's storyline.

A source close to the production has confirmed to BollywoodLife that Disha is not playing Salman’s love interest in Bharat. In fact, she will be playing his sister in the movie. The movie is based on the Korean film, Ode To My Father. In that film, the sister’s role was played by Shin Rin-ah.

"The pairing of Salman and Disha in a circus set-up in the '60s is unusual and exciting. She is a promising star and for this character, we needed a girl who looked vulnerable and beautiful yet had the physicality of an athlete. Disha fit the bill perfectly," Ali Abbas Zafar told a leading tabloid.

It is for the first time that Salman will share screen space with Disha Patani. "I'm excited to be a part of Bharat, it's like a dream come true to get an opportunity to work with Salman sir and I can't wait for the journey to begin. I am a big fan of Ali Abbas sir's work," Disha added.

Talking about his next line up of projects, Salman Khan revealed at a recent media interaction that No Entry sequel and Wanted sequel are not in works. But he confirmed that will be shooting for Dabangg 3, along with Bharat. He also added that his dance film with Remo D’Souza is still happening, but it will take him to learn the dance routines. He also revealed that Sher Khan is also happening very soon. And that work on the script of Kick 2 is in process.
