Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab We Met’ became a career-defining film for both Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. However, did you know that it was Bobby Deol and not Shahid, who was the first choice for the movie opposite Kareena?

In a throwback interview with a news portal, Bobby said that he had started to put the project together with Imtiaz, but was quietly removed from it after Kareena, who reportedly didn’t even want to meet Imtiaz, suggested that they hire Shahid to star opposite her instead.Imtiaz Ali brought Shahid in. The actor revealed that although he is still friends with Imtiaz, he always tells the filmmaker that he won’t watch any of his films until he makes one with him.

The film received positive reviews from all sides and Kareena’s performance as Geet in the movie especially received a lot of love and appreciation from the audience and the critics alike.
