Cuttputlli Movie Review: Cuttputlli or Cutsimpli from a south movie?

Cuttputlli cuts away from all the jingoism, over the top romance and doesn't become the flag bearer of preaching and way of life.

It's a simple murder mystery set in Himachal Pradesh (HP) or the UK - it's not Britain but Uttarakhand. It's confusing because they aren't clear. The only thing that is clear is that Akshay Kumar is 36 years old and wants to be a Crime film director but ends up joining the police with "Jijaji" - Chandrachud Singh. Rakul has no role to play except she is the producer's love interest. It is a non-stressful, easy one-time watch which lags a bit and has absolutely nothing new to offer. The climax is a disaster in making and ends haphazardly. The original Tamil Ratsasan was much better I guess. This movie was made by a decent director but it's still his weakest film available on Hotstar.

Enjoy the not-so-enjoyable movie with Shanghai Rolls and sweet chili sauce.
