Plot:

Ambitious chef Saloni Bagga (played by Triptii Dimri) aspires to win the prestigious Meraki star, the culinary equivalent of an Oscar. Despite her mother's hopes for her to find a partner at weddings, Saloni's life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Akhil Chadha (played by Vicky Kaushal), a Punjabi boy from West Delhi who owns a shop in Karol Bagh. Their whirlwind romance quickly spirals towards divorce.

In Mussoorie, Saloni forms a connection with her boss, Gurbir Pannu (played by Ammy Virk). After a wild, drunken night with both men, she discovers she is pregnant with twins from different fathers, a rare case known as Heteropaternal Superfecundation. Chaos ensues as Akhil and Gurbir compete to prove themselves as the better father, leading to a series of hilarious and bizarre events.

Bad Newz Movie Review:

Bad Newz might leave you with mixed feelings. Although some jokes and moments land well, the overall humor may fall flat, making the film rather forgettable. You might find the plot stretched thin, dragging on without much substance.

Vicky Kaushal shines with his impressive acting skills, reinforcing his reputation as a versatile performer. Tripti Dimri adds glamour and balance. Ammy Virk shines with his comic timing. However, Neha Dhupia and Sheeba Chaddha are not given enough screen time to make a significant impact.

Director Anand Tiwari’s attempt at humor falls flat for the most part. The film’s first half is weighed down by awkward and childish moments that undermine its emotional impact, frequently turning serious scenes into unintended comedy. Although the second half, with its pregnancy subplot and Vicky Kaushal’s performance, shows some promise, the film has problems with being clear and making sense.

The film's biggest problem is that it doesn’t entertain consistently. The jokes get old, and even though it looks impressive, it fails to keep your interest. The disappointing ending also takes away from the overall experience.

On the positive side, the film features three popular songs - "Tauba Tauba," "Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam," and "Jaanam," which add to its appeal. While the nostalgic songs add a pleasant touch, the film ultimately feels like an overambitious, uninspired comedy. However, more refined moments in the first half and a tighter narrative could have significantly improved the overall experience.

In summary, Bad Newz has its moments of entertainment but ultimately falls short of its potential, providing a mixed bag rather than a consistently engaging film.
