Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre release date gets postponed due to increase in Covid 19 cases

Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi and Rhea Chakraborty's Chehre release date have been postponed due to a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases across the country. The makers of the film released a statement informing fans about the decision. The film was earlier scheduled to release on April 9. New restrictions and lockdowns are being implemented in different parts of the country to control the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases. Maharashtra is one of the most affected states in India. The makers of Chehre are yet to announce the new release date.
The makers and the actors of Chehre shared a pres statement informing about the delay in the release of the film. Emraan Hashmi wrote, "The well-being of our very own audience is of utmost importance to us. We are extremely humbled by the love and support that we have received this far. See you in the cinemas soon. Until then, stay safe! - Team #Chehre (sic)."
The statement reads, "Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 and new guidelines for cinemas, we are unable to release our movie Chehre on 9th April and have decided to postpone until further notice. We have received an overwhelming response on our trailer and we are grateful for the love and support. We have decided to bring Chehre to audiences theatrically when the environment is more conducive for the experience. See you in cinemas very soon, until then stay safe and healthy! Cover your Chehre with a mask and don't forget to use sanitiser. Team Chehre."

The trailer of Chehre was released on March 18. It features Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in prominent roles. The trailer begins with visuals of heavy snowfall and a car riding through some snow-capped mountains. Along with these visuals, Big B can be heard saying, "Aap mein se kisi ne apraadh ya jurm kia ho toh bahut sambhalke guzriyega, kyunki ye khel apke sath bhi khela ja sakta hai (If any of you have committed a crime then tread carefully, because this game can be played with you too)."
The rest of the trailer shows us a bunch of strangers in a motel, playing a dangerous game where everybody is guilty until proven innocent. Towards the end of the trailer, we see Rhea Chakraborty in a scene with Emraan Hashmi, thereby confirming that she is indeed a part of the film.
Directed by Rumi Jafry, Chehre is a mystery thriller. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in the role of a lawyer in the film. Apart from Big B, Emraan Hashmi and Rhea Chakraborty, Chehre also stars Krystle D'Souza, Annu Kapoor and Dhritiman Chatterjee, among others.
This is not the first time the release date of Chehre has been changed. The film was earlier slated to release in July 2020. However, the release had been deferred due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
