Ajay Devgn donated Rs 51 lakh to Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to help the daily wage workers of the film industry affected by coronavirus lockdown.
Ajay Devgn, who celebrates his 51st birthday today, donated Rs 51 lakh to Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to help the daily wage workers of the film industry affected by the lockdown due to the novel coronavirus.
Ashoke Pandit, who is FWICE's Chief Advisor, took to social media to thank the Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior actor for his contribution.
Sharing the video, Ashoke Pandit wrote, "Dear @ajaydevgn, we thank U for your generous contribution of 51 lakhs towards @fwice_mum, for the benefit of our 5 lakh #CineWorkers. U have proved time & again, especially in times of crisis, that U are a real-life #Singham. God bless U. #FWICEFightsCorona #IndiaFightsCorona"

The filmmaker also urged other actors, producers, and directors to come forward and help the people in need.
Earlier, Salman Khan extended financial support to 25,000 daily wage workers from the film industry. FWICE President BN Tiwari informed news agency PTI that the actor, through his Being Human Foundation, reached out to their organization to help the workers. He said, "Salman's Being Human Foundation has come forward to help daily wage workers. They called us three days ago. We have about 5 lakh workers out of which 25,000 are in dire need of financial help. Being Human Foundation said they will take care of these workers on their own. They have asked for account details of these 25,000 workers as they want to ensure that money reaches them directly."
