Actors Sharvari and Mona Singh visited Mumbai's famous Siddhivinayak Temple on Thursday morning to seek blessings ahead of the release of their film Munjya.
They were joined by co-star Abhay Verma, with both Mona and Sharvari dressed in ethnic attire. The film, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, also stars Sathyaraj and revolves around the myth of 'Munjya,' rooted in Indian belief and cultural systems.
The plot of Munjya is triggered by the popular song "Munni Badnam Hui" from Salman Khan's 2010 blockbuster film Dabangg. The screenplay is crafted by Yogesh Chandekar and Niren Bhatt, with music composed by Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya.
In a media interaction, Mona Singh shared insights about her role in the film. "I'm playing the character of Pammi. Abhay is portraying Bittu, my son, and I'm his mother, who is pretty strict and possessive about him. Our journey together is filled with twists and turns. There's plenty of drama and chaos. My character in the film is a lot of fun, a bit loud and feisty, and it's hardcore comedy, something I've never attempted before," she explained.
Sharvari also discussed her character, saying, "My character is a modern girl who wants to achieve her dreams and prioritizes them above everything else, which I think we all do nowadays. Many girls will relate to my character. Her dating life is also quite confusing, so many girls will relate to that too. A very beautifully written character."
Munja promises to be an engaging mix of comedy, drama, and cultural elements, with performances that audiences can look forward to.
