Actress Kangana Ranaut, who portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the upcoming film Emergency, revealed that she personally invited politician Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to watch the movie.

Speaking with IANS, Kangana shared, "I actually met Priyanka Gandhi in the parliament. The first thing I told her was, 'You should watch Emergency.' She was very gracious and replied, 'Yeah, maybe.' Let's see if they decide to watch the film."

Kangana emphasized that the film is a sensitive and dignified portrayal of a pivotal period in India’s history, spanning the 21-month emergency declared by Indira Gandhi from 1975 to 1977. "I have taken great care to portray Mrs. Gandhi with dignity, avoiding sensationalism and focusing on her leadership and personality beyond controversial aspects of her personal life," she added.
