Formal Complaint Lodged Against Ranbir Kapoor Over Circulating Video of Christmas Lunch

A Christmas video featuring Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has prompted a formal complaint in Mumbai, where a man alleges that Ranbir and his family have "offended religious sentiments." The footage shows Ranbir Kapoor participating in the Christmas flambé tradition, involving pouring spirits on pudding and briefly setting it aflame, with his wife, actor Alia Bhatt, standing by his side.

Sanjay Tiwari, who submitted the complaint at Ghatkopar police station through his legal representatives Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra, asserts that the actor "is seen pouring liquor on cake and setting it on fire while saying Jai Mata Di."

As of now, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the case.

According to the complaint, "In Hinduism, the fire god is invoked before invoking other deities, but Ranbir Kapoor and his family members deliberately used intoxicants while celebrating the festival of another religion and chanted Jai Mata Di."

The video captures moments from the annual Christmas brunch hosted by Kunal Kapoor, attended by Ranbir, Alia, and their daughter Raha.
