Alia Bhatt's debut production venture 'Darlings', co produced by Shah Rukh Khan

Alia Bhatt has announced her own production company Eternal Sunshine Productions. And the first film under this banner will be Darlings, which is being co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. The film will star Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. Alia Bhatt and SRK have earlier worked together in Dear Zindagi (2016).

After announcing the launch of her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions, Alia Bhatt revealed that the first film under the banner of her production house will be Darlings. The film is being co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Sharing a special video, Alia wrote, "This one's special! Announcing #Darlings, my first ever production under @eternalsunshineproduction, in association with my fav @iamsrk’s @redchilliesent! Starring the amazing @shefalishahofficial, @itsvijayvarma, @roshan.matthew. Directed by @jasmeet_k_reen & produced by @gaurikhan, @_gauravverma (sic)."

Alia Bhatt's Darlings is a unique story of a quirky mother-daughter duo navigating through crazy circumstances as they try to find their place in the world. The dark comedy is set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a conservative lower-middle-class neighbourhood and traces the lives of these two women as they find courage and love in exceptional circumstances.

The announcement video for Darlings comes with its own statutory warning, which says, "Offending women can be very dangerous for your health! (sic)."

Darlings mark a first for many. While Alia Bhatt is venturing into film production with her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions with this film, it also marks the directorial debut of Jasmeet K Reen.

Earlier today, Alia Bhatt announced the launch of her production house on Instagram. She shared the logo of the company, which showcases a kitten holding a fish balloon. The logo reflects Alia's personality as the actress has many pet cats. Sharing the logo, she wrote, "And I am so happy to announce.... PRODUCTION!! Eternal Sunshine Productions. Let us tell you tales. Happy tales. Warm and fuzzy tales. Real tales. Timeless tales. @eternalsunshineproduction (sic)."

Apart from venturing into film production, Alia Bhatt will remain active in the field of acting. The actress will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. The teaser of the film was recently revealed and is being loved by all. She is also awaiting the release of Brahmastra, her film with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna. Alia will be also seen in SS Rajamouli's RRR. Then she also has Karan Johar's Takht in the pipeline.
