Searching is an upcoming thriller film starring John Cho and Michelle La playing the role of a father-daughter in the film. The film got an enormous response in the film festivals.
Social Media has spread like anything in our world and most of us always spend time on this even on important occasions all our life for every damn reason you can think of. Searching exposes this secret to the world and the harsh realities of social media addiction.
The plot revolves around a man named David Kim (John Cho) who has a doting daughter Margot, a young 16-year-old girl who is studious and vivacious in her life. Everything goes well until one day his daughter suddenly goes missing and he calls up the police to investigate the matter. Detective Rosemary Vick (Debra Messing) takes up the case and realizes that she can't go anymore further with it. As the father takes up the case, he first checks her computer and finds many such pictures and some transactions which consist of large amounts of money which shock the Dad. As he goes through her social media handles, he later discovers that her daughter's life is much more than something which he had never expected in his life.
The camerawork is done beautifully and it doesn't use the camera used in film shooting. The majority of the shooting is done with the help of a webcam and it immerses you in the film if you are planning to watch it this weekend.
This one will be one of the Hitchcock's films which most of our parents grew up watching and this one will be in your watchlist if you are a hardcore fan of edge-of-the-seat and suspense thrillers.
